This kind of beetle eats almost everything. It attacks dried fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, red and black pepper, tobacco.
The larvae is the one that causes damage.
Best conditions are from 28 to 320 C and a relative humidity of 75%.
The beetle is highly sensitive to low temperatures.
Lower threshold temperature is 15-180 C.
In a year gives birth to 3-4 generations.
The beetle is long up to 4 mm., reddish-brown colored.
The body is covered with silvery brown hairs.
