The caterpillar develops and damages grains of wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, dried fruits.
The caterpillar can develop even in corks.
The butterfly has a length of 8 mm.
During the feeding, the caterpillar makes a cocoon formed by attaching silk to two grains.
While eating caterpillar twists the grains with thread in a nest of 20-30 grains.
Corn moth species loves warm temperatures and it is sensitive to low temperatures.
In 6-80C caterpillars stop feeding and move.
